Tagay pa?*

The autumn season is the culprit not to forget the beautiful decors and display all around. It's a good thing that the local radio has not play any Christmas song yet or I will just break down and cry! :=)

Okay, I miss Cavite and long to spend holiday season there. Don't get me wrong, I love my small family here but Christmas is really different and special back home. Maybe it's the atmosphere. It's more vibrant, alive and full of excitement.

Anyway, as I go through this longing--I turn to drinking! nope not the hard one but the more intense and souvenir-pack coffee.Oh, how I love the kapeng barako kind with a bit of "pardo" or muscavado. I remember during our summer vacation in our grandfather's, one of us(his ton of grandchildren) has to prepare his coffee minutes before he arrive from the farm. This was done over the firewood stove using a blackened casserole filled with water and as it boil two spoonful of coffee were poured into it. The scent of the brewing coffee filled our afternoon.Back to our own home--we used to drink instant coffee using the small Nescafé jars and breakfast wouldn't be complete without pandesal dipped in coffee.

I still have a month supply of kapeng barako--good for this rainy days. I just hope that I won't end up in K.B.A.(kapeng barako anonymous) before the holidays!!

By the way how do you like your coffee?

Oh! And here I was, trying to cut back on coffee! You make a compelling case for keeping a favorite indulgence!

Sorry to hear about your Christmas homesickness--I can sympathize.

Hi Mayet! I love SB or SBC fraps and when i'm home, i make my own version by mixing milk, choco drink and 3 in 1 coffee with black forest flavor... blend it with ice and add cream... you know how hot it is here in the Philippines so I'm not really a fan of coffee hot version...

Anyway... i feel sad that you will be celebrating Christmas away from your family...

You take care!

Hi! Sounds like you need a trip home to reconnect, is that possible? All the better if you can take the whole family!

As for coffee, alas, I'm a instant coffee and cappuccino fan. Mind you, since watching "The "Bucket List" movie, I'm tempted to try out "Kopi Luwak!" Have you tried it and what was it like?

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Take Care,
Peter

I'm now weaned off my coffee addiction (every morning with breakfast 4 cups) and it's amazing how I was able to skip coffee all through the winter. kape barako does sound enticing.

thanks for dropping by,and have a great weekend as well.
