Of love and letting go

daffodil in the garden, Lancy2016 L ove has given me the courage to do things I thought I was not capable of. To dare, get lost and eventually learn.  Yet, love for me  is also sacrifice and patience. Family and friends. Letting go and rebirth.  Forgiveness and understanding... That love is not  only an effort given to someone or the length of time spent together but rather knowing you have given a part of yourself to that special person and at that moment in time experienced a marvelous feeling of completeness. And when that feeling has already dissipated, it's either you turn love into a verb, making an effort to do it all over again or let go. Say goodbye. Cry. Feel the pain and disappointment. But remember letting go would not mean ceasing to experience love but rather giving someone else the chance to love you. Just don't let that moment passes you by. ♥

The storyteller

Lying comfortably on the sofa as I contemplate my next move on saving the jiggling pets, this little creature slowly made her way in the half lighted room. It was then that the bomb exploded and the key came crashing down on the block. Whew!! Little creature: Nanay (Mother), do you want me to tell you a story? Looking at her excited face then quickly returning my attention to the exploding blocks I half-heartedly said yes and so she begun. Little creature: "There was once a princess locked in a tower.....blahhh...blahh.                        She has a mommy that wasn't really her mommy with a pointy hat                         but she was not a  real witch. Blahhh...blahh."                       "She also has a horse who spits fire blah...

A week in a camper van and the moving canvas

30 Day Snapshots # 24 The scenery would change every time and there was no dull moment in a camper van. You could not ignore them. Either you click your way from one scenery to another or merely seat there and enjoy the view. Either way, you'd be assured of the breathtaking view. It would feel like living in a moving canvas.

My hidden zen garden

30 Day Snapshots # 23 Walis tingting (broom stick) Every morning, while growing up in a village we fondly called "Isla Berde", I would hear that familiar sound. The scratching noise of the sticks touching the ground along with my Grandmother's footsteps. Nevertheless, no one was spared in using the "walis ting-ting". When I was sturdy enough, it became my morning ritual. A right of passage just like when an eight year old girl started to cook rice over wood fire. However, you wouldn't think that any grade schooler would love sweeping the front yard early in the morning. It was something I didn't like in the beginning but there was something about being alone outside and seeing the sun slowly appearing. Revealing  the whole Isla Berde with its tall trees and green surrounding.  And when you  survey everything, it looked like a zen garden. The dusty ground would have traces of tidy lines and footsteps. Seemingly well-raked yard and clutter free e...

Bike Love : a confession of a newbie Mommy Biker

30 Day Snapshots # 20  It is something I thought a woman of  my age couldn't do. You see, I didn't have a bike when I was young, didn't learn how ride one. I have walked a lot, climbed trees and played with my cousin's mini car but never experience  riding a bike. It wasn't part of my childhood. Nonetheless, having two daughters who go to two different establishments, I need to make my life easier.  Well, of course the fact that we don't own a car made it obvious that the bike is the cheapest answer. But that solution was scary. I was worried about the cars, traffic, pedestrians, the girls' safety and the list goes on and on. However, necessity impelled me to try and with enough courage and wobbly knees, I was able to fetch the girls from school. It has been hundred times of cycling to and fro since that very first day, shaky knees and all, but it's worth it.  Plus when the girls(seated in the trailer)-- with their helmet on-- sing together des...

Coffee, lemons and sun

30 Day Snapshots #9 Lemon tree in Olbia Sunny day, breakfast on the terrace with the lemon tree in the front yard. The girls were running around while the husband and I were enjoying our cappuccino. I couldn't take my eyes off this tree with all the lemons hanging. Inviting.... If I could just stretch my arm, grab some yellow fruits and make some lemonade.

Angel

30 Day Snapshots # 2 A gentle angel is always there To chase grey clouds away And bring you peace and comfort To each hour of every day Unknown

...just groovin'!

It seems she's enjoying her promenade.

Meet Erin

She's so feisty. Smiles a lot and very sweet. Loves to climb up just about anything. Her favorite is a Dalmatian stuff toy we named---Pongo, who else? She goes around the house biting it's tail and cannot sleep without it. Prefers to eat by herself and loves to take books off the shelf. I've already put away a lot of things to make our home safe for her and less stressful for me. You might also like: Wishing I was 10 years old again Life in my dreamland Here I am again!!
