Trials and thread

It's one of those things that I wished to have the knack for not only because there are so many women in our family who are so talented in doing this but creating something on my own gives me real pleasure.

Having Home Economics back in high school didn't really help. I remember asking my aunt for help on a particular project or I would hurdle to finish one on time. Eventually the grades would show how my skill or the lack of it needed a lot of improvement.

I guess my desire to learn to sew resurface when I became a mother. There was a need for me to cut cost on things for my daughters. I'm not talking about their wardrobe but small things like high chair or duvet cover. Anything that doesn't need fancy work. Only straight sewing!

There were so many projects that didn't see the day, others were so-so but I persevere, if that's the best word to describe my never-ending trials on sewing.

I know that it would take me a long time to be like Adin but I might get there, one throw pillow case at a time.

I am sure you will do good once you keep trying and sewing. Pillowcases are good thing to start with like those simple styles and then when you master that, challenge yourself to go up to a little bit more challenging ones. I learned sewing from watching my mom and now I wish I asked her to really teach me things, but I didn't. You can do it! :) Thanks again!

I will cook all day, but I will never sew. Ito ang hindi ko kayang gawin. My mom and my sister can make an outfit but I can't fix a button. I guess, kanya kanyang hilig lang di ba? have a great day..

I so love to sew too but I like somebody to tell me what to do hehehe. Like your family my family is very good in sewing too. I would love to sew my own pajama or bed sheet but seems like I get overwhelmed when I see instructions and then I started to say okey I can't do it, lol!! Adin is really good at it very talented ^_^

Learning how to sew (and first, buying a sewing machine) is included in my "to Do" list of 2011, ^^

Thanks for visiting my blog, btw, would you believe, that Miu Miu pair was sold for Php50.00 ($1.00) only? I searched online and found an ebay selling those for $300.00, ^^

Hello Yette. My aunts also in my mother side where very talented when it comes to sewing. When I first came here in the US and I don't have a job, I started learning how to sew. I was able to make a throw pillow and a blouse (which came out very depressing, lol). Anyway, I haven't touched my sewing machine for so long. Maybe one day. Just keep on trying Yette and you will be as good as those professional dressmakers.

That is one thing that I really wanted to learn. I was sewing before and even able to make cushion covers (only) but since I don't have anymore the sewing machine, i stopped.

Let it snow, let it snow--man!

The rasta-inspired creation of my hubby and Ms.K After loads of rolling here and there, it's done. Our first snowman of the season.;)It might not last long and will surely lose its precious eyes by tomorrow, but for now let's enjoy that smile. This reminds me of something, I just can't put my finger on it. Hmmm, do you have any idea? Think...think...! Eh-oh! Smile, it's Monday!

Vacation over

It's kinda hard to get up early again after 2 weeks of staying up late.I've started taking the girls early to bed and of course, they're awake at around 6h30. My husband on the other hand has started working and I think he misses his late mornings. Now it's back to normal sched again. Now, I'm lazily doing my chores and still hoping that my mug of coffee will take effect soon. How do you get back to normal routine after weeks of vacation?
