Sat.night with Noel Cabangon

He is no Piolo nor Sam * but Noel Cabangon charmed the Pinoys here in Geneva last night with his great voice and funny antics.I actually saw him performed for Balik-Aral a few years ago and last Friday afternoon while having a mug of chocolat chaud with hubby in Parc de Bastion, kuya Joseph approached us and told me about the concert. All the while, Noel was playing chess-the big ones on the ground- and his accompanist, Nikko Rivera was also there. We were introduced to him and I promised to see his concert. The repertoire of his songs brought back memories and reminded me of life in the Philippines. There were 3 front acts, each has 3 songs which I think, are too much but in fairness they are talented artists. I just hope that the vocalist from the Martian Dream(a Filipino band of 4 young musicians) would articulate better next time. Honestly aside from the title, I didn't understand much of the lyrics, sorry! Was it my hearing or my age? But then again, they made me swing every ...

Not so Fine for a frugal like me

10.30 sf!!! that's what I have paid to the library for my late books. grrr! and to think that I thought of buying 200 grams of chestnut for 5.60 sf. Well, I just skipped the latter just to remind myself that next time I have to be careful and check the date. This is just one my silly tactics, not only because I love chestnuts but paying that amount due to my inattentiveness made me cringe.
Life in Lombard is settling a bit. My morning class is on it's 2 nd month already while my German class is on it's first stage. I am so excited that I can say a phrase in german!lol Anyway, I have more or less adapted to my new routine which was not that easy at the beginning. This is why I wasn't able to post for a looong time. I feel so bad that up to now we haven't decided about baby K's first birthday party. She will turn one on the 11 th of this month. Honestly, I don't want to have a big one, just the kind where she would blow her candle, eat her carrot cake and have fun. I want everybody who are witness of her growth be there--and there are so many of them (talk about not having a big party!). So how to have a simple first birthday party? Gosh, I feel so awful!

I'm still alive and kicking!

My sister-in-law wondered why I haven't done any post lately. Well, there were just things to be done , and staying in front of the computer for a long time would not help at all. My french morning class has begun and now my schedule is getting hectic, I have also enrolled in German language-though it will start in three weeks, added to this is my volunteer work in the theater, but that's not all--I was thinking of taking a night sewing class once a week. Am I pushing myself too much? Who is taking care of baby K? Karen's under the loving care of her Papa and Mami Mary(my mother) every morning. Maybe she's affected with all these changes because she wakes up at around 1 in the morning. It's not easy esp, when you have to get up early to do the homework and study, but I don't want to complain--this is my idea, and besides, hubby has his work/study load, too. Anyway, I hope to keep on posting, but I don't think that it would be as regular as before.
