It was 4:30 in the morning and we both had our turn to use the comfort room. As I went back to bed, hubby turned on the radio and started to talk. hubby: I hope you don't mind. Mayet: not at all hubby: you were snoring, Mayet: really? hubby: but I found it cute. Mayet: (while lovingly holding his hand and with a smile)so now we're both snoring. I just hope that in 20 years time you would tell me the same thing. no answer... hello..anybody there... patiently waiting... but All I could hear was the radio ... and of course my husband's snoring!

The best way to gauge your child's progress is to take her/him to a wedding reception. You will definitely see her/his social skill and endurance among others.In the same way you can also check if your "patience barometer" functions well and of course how physically fit you are. This is how my husband and I found out that our 15-month-old Karen is really progressing. Oh,how she loves to be with other children, run around with them and how she hates to stay in her pushchair.Gone are the days when she would just sit and cuddle with Nanay. Now she wants to acquire her autonomy, that it's more exciting to walk around these big people who are kind enough to let her pass. She is getting better now in ignoring our plea to please stop, or don't go there,etc...The menacing look would be met by mischievous smile and all I could do was turn to my husband with desperation. It was raining most of the time, but this didn't deter us from visiting famous spots in Rome. There was just one person who was not too happy about something. Maybe she wanted to get her hair done ... so that later on she could have a drink with an Italian boy... and bike around! Should I be worried?

I have been yearning to prepare siopao(steamed dumplings) for as long as I can remember but always have the excuse not to do so specially when there's an asian store just nearby. However,buying them once a week just to fill my craving will cost a lot in the long run. So I have decided to prepare them myself. Now, after a long search for a good recipe I have found one over at pinoycook.net and boy, it is so easy to do. Nonetheless, instead of putting ground meat, I have just used thin sliced pork. My husband just love them and I feel like singing before going to bed--I did my siopao!

Every now and then I take Karen to Cerf Volant , it's a place where in a child can play accompanied by an adult or mostly by his/her mother. Although she doesn't want to play yet with other children, I believe that it's a good way for her "to interact" with others. That goes the same thing for me, I would sometime talk to another mother but while majority of the Westeners in the playgroup look like their offspring that's not my case. Karen's features are mostly taken from her father--curly hair, fair skin,etc. Anyway, while some people could be discreet on asking if Karen's my daughter, others (mostly my compatriots) could not believe that she is really my daughter. This was one of experiences one afternoon while we were in Cerf Volant. A compatriot greeted me with a smile and asked me if I work full-time. Ugh! She thought that I was Karen's nanny! I know that I am not an isolated case, but it felt weird having to deal with that comment. I could h...
