Most of the Pinoys leaving here tend to get together only on weekends and my family is no exception. Sunday is our special day. This is the time to catch up. Talk about relatives back home. The time for manicure and pedicure. For inexpensive haircut.
Here's my cousin Eloise(half Pinay,half Italian)
Sinigang. Boy bawang. Junk food galore. Red wine. What?? Red wine and sinigang? Well, we are from Cavite and eccentricity runs in our blood. What ever!! Anyway, the size of my mother's studio is not an excuse for us and squeezed like sardines we would be told of Mama and her siblings' younger days. That would be interrupted with dessert and coffee. Then there's the magic sing. Someone with stronger voice might sing, amidst the laughter and story telling she might get 100% score due to her effort to be heard. Another one would try to sing and monopolize the microphone in the process. This would only stop when we got tired and realized that we need to go home. Doggy bag.Kisses. Bye. Door closed. How was your get together this week-end?
