Parenting 101

The best way to gauge your child's progress is to take her/him to a wedding reception. You will definitely see her/his social skill and endurance among others. In the same way you can also check if your "patience barometer" functions well and of course how physically fit you are. This is how my husband and I found out that our 15-month-old Karen is really progressing. Oh,how she loves to be with other children, run around with them and how she hates to stay in her pushchair.Gone are the days when she would just sit and cuddle with Nanay. Now she wants to acquire her autonomy, that it's more exciting to walk around these big people who are kind enough to let her pass. She is getting better now in ignoring our plea to please stop, or don't go there,etc...The menacing look would be met by mischievous smile and all I could do was turn to my husband with desperation. So, just before the dessert, I made the biggest decision of that night. Yes, I left the party with Karen who fell asleep on our way home. She didn't budge while I change her for the night and it took me a while to leave her room. Time flies fast, she is growing so quickly and there's no doubt that we,as parents, will still have a lot to learn. But for the time being, I need to sleep and as I turned off the lights, with an awful headache I silently pray that my early bird-Karen wakes up at 8a.m.

It sounds like it was a lovely wedding, especially for the littlest guests. That is a tough age to socialize since you don't actually get a chance to talk to anyone. You are too busy chasing.

what a way to test the waters, pero sure ako na habang lumalaki si karen, mas magiging active sya kaya be prepare, hahaha.

Our mid-week get away in Dijon

Dijon, one of the cities in France, was the destination of our mid-week get away. The city, which is well known for its mustard,is a 3-hour train ride from Genève via Lausanne. As I've mentioned in my previous post ,this was my first time to visit the city. We arrived mid-day to a gloomy surrounding and headed to Quick, sort of Jollibee here. Yet,the real treat was in the old town. Walking on the paved street for me was like being transported to another era. Aside from Musée des Beaux-Arts Dijon, we were able to visit Cathédrale de Saint Bénigne and the Notre Dame de Dijon. However, due to time constraint we were not able to visit other places. Our evening meal was in Le Théâtre des Sens, a small but cozy restaurant and where I've tried escargot. Yes, I did and blame it on the kir! Our dinner was really good, the waiter was very cheery and accomodating. We stayed at the Hotel Des Ducs where we spent the rest of the night watching crime scene investigation. Ah! the joy of havin...

Vacation over

It's kinda hard to get up early again after 2 weeks of staying up late.I've started taking the girls early to bed and of course, they're awake at around 6h30. My husband on the other hand has started working and I think he misses his late mornings. Now it's back to normal sched again. Now, I'm lazily doing my chores and still hoping that my mug of coffee will take effect soon. How do you get back to normal routine after weeks of vacation? Imortal invades my home

A special thanks to My CHOS for letting me use the above photo. Just click on the photo to see more of John Lloyd and Angel Locsin. Recently, I have been smiling a lot because of John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin. This is after I have discovered Imortal one fine afternoon when the girls were having their nap and Nanay was having her quiet moment. Many viewers have compared the series to Twilight which I haven't seen yet. Yes, I might be the only soul who has not seen the film though I &hearts Robert Pattinson's eyes. Maybe soon, when I've got the time. Anyway, back to Imortal and John Lloyd Cruz--yes, this is my new fave tv series. I look forward every night for my girls to go to bed so that I can watch Imortal in peace. There are times when I just watch a week of the series on Fridays. This saves me time and I got to do something else. There's only one thing which frustrates me--nobody to share my "kilig Imortal" moments with. Now,please excuse me if I...
