Wednesday

This is not really about the famous character originally played by Christina Ricci. Though I have watched season 1 on Netflix and my daughter was upset that I finished the last two episodes without her. So, I promised that we will watch  Season 2 together.

Back to my Wednesday.

Here in Switzerland, where 22.9 % of the population speak french,  Wednesday is translated as mercredi and they do not write the days in a capital letter. Even the dates are written differently. Date first, then the month, then finally the year. Today is 08.12.2022.

Below is a nursery rhyme by Ann Eliza Bray. Apparently, it is supposed to help children remember the days of the week.

As someone who was born on a Wednesday and has a lot to learn and unlearn about woes, I am embracing a more positive connotation for it.

My Wednesday is particular because it's the day I was born. It is also when my writing and posting are done. This might change however because I am planning to write and post my blog twice a week. So, I might write about Saturday, as well. And it's samedi in french.

Incidentally, my daughter and I love the new Wednesday. Can't wait for the next season.

How about you, what's your favorite day?

Vacation over

It's kinda hard to get up early again after 2 weeks of staying up late.I've started taking the girls early to bed and of course, they're awake at around 6h30. My husband on the other hand has started working and I think he misses his late mornings. Now it's back to normal sched again. Now, I'm lazily doing my chores and still hoping that my mug of coffee will take effect soon. How do you get back to normal routine after weeks of vacation? Our mid-week get away in Dijon

Dijon, one of the cities in France, was the destination of our mid-week get away. The city, which is well known for its mustard,is a 3-hour train ride from Genève via Lausanne. As I've mentioned in my previous post ,this was my first time to visit the city. We arrived mid-day to a gloomy surrounding and headed to Quick, sort of Jollibee here. Yet,the real treat was in the old town. Walking on the paved street for me was like being transported to another era. Aside from Musée des Beaux-Arts Dijon, we were able to visit Cathédrale de Saint Bénigne and the Notre Dame de Dijon. However, due to time constraint we were not able to visit other places. Our evening meal was in Le Théâtre des Sens, a small but cozy restaurant and where I've tried escargot. Yes, I did and blame it on the kir! Our dinner was really good, the waiter was very cheery and accomodating. We stayed at the Hotel Des Ducs where we spent the rest of the night watching crime scene investigation. Ah! the joy of havin...

Just like Winnie the Pooh

I want to be like him today. Smiling...even if Erin's sick and hasn't been sleeping well for two nights now. Or despite the fact that my computer is under repair. This post is actually done using my hubby's which he doesn't like coz there were times when his computer got virus because of me. My friends, I will visit you, that I promise so see you around.
