3rd day - 5 things TODAY (till Christmas)

My list is not in order. I am typing and at the same time listening to Una Flor by Juanes. I discovered his song after watching Jane the Virgin. It's on Spotify and I have created a playlist for Spanish and Italian songs. A great way to stimulate the brain. Now back to my list.
  1. Walked barefoot in the garden. Experts called it grounding though as far as I can remember, everyone in Isla Berde was doing it when we were growing up. Here is a short film about it.
  2. Read 8 pages of my current book. I tend to be distracted by the other books I have. There's one on the nightstand and one in my backpack, ready to be read when I take public transport. Am I the only one?
  3. Baked a banana cake. Using a gluten-free flour. Nope, it was not good and I will try again.
  4. Phoned Mama. Talked about the weather, this and that. In my quest to heal and at the same time have a better relationship with her, I need to set boundaries yet understand her. Her life experience. Her story. It is a process but there's no more blaming, no more what-ifs. We are moving forward. And I always remind her that I am not only her daughter. I am also an  ADULT.
  5. Hugged my prune tree. This is after watering it and then saying how grateful I am for the fruits. I did not dance, by the way, because it is planted on a slope.
If you happen to pass by and read my  3rd day, do not hesitate to leave a comment.
Now go out and hug a tree.

Our mid-week get away in Dijon

Dijon, one of the cities in France, was the destination of our mid-week get away. The city, which is well known for its mustard,is a 3-hour train ride from Genève via Lausanne. As I've mentioned in my previous post ,this was my first time to visit the city. We arrived mid-day to a gloomy surrounding and headed to Quick, sort of Jollibee here. Yet,the real treat was in the old town. Walking on the paved street for me was like being transported to another era. Aside from Musée des Beaux-Arts Dijon, we were able to visit Cathédrale de Saint Bénigne and the Notre Dame de Dijon. However, due to time constraint we were not able to visit other places. Our evening meal was in Le Théâtre des Sens, a small but cozy restaurant and where I've tried escargot. Yes, I did and blame it on the kir! Our dinner was really good, the waiter was very cheery and accomodating. We stayed at the Hotel Des Ducs where we spent the rest of the night watching crime scene investigation. Ah! the joy of havin...

Vacation over

It's kinda hard to get up early again after 2 weeks of staying up late.I've started taking the girls early to bed and of course, they're awake at around 6h30. My husband on the other hand has started working and I think he misses his late mornings. Now it's back to normal sched again. Now, I'm lazily doing my chores and still hoping that my mug of coffee will take effect soon. How do you get back to normal routine after weeks of vacation? A Kulasa and being on (Swiss) time

I cannot remember being "that late" besides I am a Kulasa and being on the dot was instilled in me. Well, there were times that due to unforseen circumstances I would be 5-10 mins late but that was it. So it was during my first two years of living here that I have really learned the importance of Swiss time . That thanks to my Mama. My mother would leave me when I didn't arrive on time. I would be upset and could not fathom the idea of being left like that. So I've learned to be on the dot(again) every time I have to see her. The idea of being late and being left behind stresses me to the max esp. if it is Mama. Now that I have two gals an extra time allowance has to be given so as not to be late. Besides, the buses have their stop and schedule so there are no more excuses. All I have to do is just be on time!
