Sunday - 5 things TODAY

Sardinia not so long ago.
Three days after my birthday, I decided to write a short blog post about 5 things that added joy and meaning to my day, I then created reels out of them. It's something I need to do to find out what is essential, which direction to take, and to be more productive while in-between jobs.

Two weeks into this little project I realized that writing, researching, and taking pictures and videos have added awe to my day. What's also important is that by creating this habit of blogging every day, I am learning a lot of things. Learning more about myself.

This project of mine will run till December 2023. So, my 5 things TODAY.

  1. Foraged. I was in Satigny this morning with my sister-in-law and on our way to a café we passed by a hazelnut tree in front of the Catholic church. I was overjoyed to pick them up as if it was my first time to see nuts on the ground. But what a blessing!
  2. Old Adidas. It feels good to walk in them and though the right shoe has a hole already, I thought of keeping them as long as possible.
  3. Dried flower seeds. I collected cosmos seeds today for my future planting. However, the garden is still full of cosmos, zinnias, and calendulas. And guess what? My ultimate dream is to convert our front yard into a cut flower garden
  4. Fig.Some years ago, I bought and planted a fig tree. We missed our first harvest last July but shared them with Mama and our neighbour. Nonetheless, this afternoon, I picked three fruits and hopefully by the end of the month we'll be harvesting more.
  5. My bike. The husband realigned the chain, a task not recommended on an early Sunday morning.
Till tomorrow.

I wonder...

How can I stop looking up the sky? With it's beauty that never ceases to amaze me.

Our mid-week get away in Dijon

Dijon, one of the cities in France, was the destination of our mid-week get away. The city, which is well known for its mustard,is a 3-hour train ride from Genève via Lausanne. As I've mentioned in my previous post ,this was my first time to visit the city. We arrived mid-day to a gloomy surrounding and headed to Quick, sort of Jollibee here. Yet,the real treat was in the old town. Walking on the paved street for me was like being transported to another era. Aside from Musée des Beaux-Arts Dijon, we were able to visit Cathédrale de Saint Bénigne and the Notre Dame de Dijon. However, due to time constraint we were not able to visit other places. Our evening meal was in Le Théâtre des Sens, a small but cozy restaurant and where I've tried escargot. Yes, I did and blame it on the kir! Our dinner was really good, the waiter was very cheery and accomodating. We stayed at the Hotel Des Ducs where we spent the rest of the night watching crime scene investigation. Ah! the joy of havin

Light in the sky

For a long time I am fascinated by the sky, but this has been fuelled up when I joined Sky Watch Friday . I am really thankful for this!
