Motherhood - travelling with toddlers / Completing and posting my 100+ drafts

22 March 2012
As the plane reached the runway, everyone cheered! Fellow Pinoys started gathering their things, much to the dismay of the plane staff. I couldn't help but smile and was overwhelmed. Home at last! The challenge of travelling with two toddlers seemed far behind now. I made it, with two additional wrinkles on my forehead.

Present day

It got easier; I am telling you. I used to get stressed out on the plane.  Not wanting to bother the others because of my children. But my toddlers were experiencing something distressful that we as adults could not comprehend. So as a not-too-experienced Nanay of two, who thought of having a relaxing flight and at the same time not wanting to cause no one any trouble, the stress level  could go throuht the roof . It didn't help the emotions that one or both of my daughters were experiencing. The heavens knew it but I was all ears to my daughters and to my inner being.
Anyway, the lesson was learned. Or maybe not really  because every trip was a different experience and as we became more experienced, we handled things differently.
My travel anxiety with my daughers has diminished, of course. Being with them on a trip is a whole new experience. No diapers to be changed,  no biberon to prepare. Though, I still prepare snacks. And the table has turned. They navigate for us, find restaurants and have their say on the accomodation.
The parents now followed them. Being reminded to punch the tickets, helped with the luggage. Rolled their eyes for nth bathroom stop.
They take your hands and lead you to cross the street. Look lovingly in your eyes. We have arrived.
Uniqlo here we come.

Our mid-week get away in Dijon

Dijon, one of the cities in France, was the destination of our mid-week get away. The city, which is well known for its mustard,is a 3-hour train ride from Genève via Lausanne. As I've mentioned in my previous post ,this was my first time to visit the city. We arrived mid-day to a gloomy surrounding and headed to Quick, sort of Jollibee here. Yet,the real treat was in the old town. Walking on the paved street for me was like being transported to another era. Aside from Musée des Beaux-Arts Dijon, we were able to visit Cathédrale de Saint Bénigne and the Notre Dame de Dijon. However, due to time constraint we were not able to visit other places. Our evening meal was in Le Théâtre des Sens, a small but cozy restaurant and where I've tried escargot. Yes, I did and blame it on the kir! Our dinner was really good, the waiter was very cheery and accomodating. We stayed at the Hotel Des Ducs where we spent the rest of the night watching crime scene investigation. Ah! the joy of havin...

I wonder...

How can I stop looking up the sky? With it's beauty that never ceases to amaze me.

Imortal invades my home

A special thanks to My CHOS for letting me use the above photo. Just click on the photo to see more of John Lloyd and Angel Locsin. Recently, I have been smiling a lot because of John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin. This is after I have discovered Imortal one fine afternoon when the girls were having their nap and Nanay was having her quiet moment. Many viewers have compared the series to Twilight which I haven't seen yet. Yes, I might be the only soul who has not seen the film though I &hearts Robert Pattinson's eyes. Maybe soon, when I've got the time. Anyway, back to Imortal and John Lloyd Cruz--yes, this is my new fave tv series. I look forward every night for my girls to go to bed so that I can watch Imortal in peace. There are times when I just watch a week of the series on Fridays. This saves me time and I got to do something else. There's only one thing which frustrates me--nobody to share my "kilig Imortal" moments with. Now,please excuse me if I...
